DJ Shivers & Line Dancing Lisa Bring the Honky Tonk to Boots & Brews Country Music Festival

One of the highlights of our summer was having the opportunity to bring country dancing to the Boots & Brews Country Music Festival in Morgan Hill, California.

This year, DJ Shivers and Line Dancing Lisa were honored to operate the Honky Tonk Tent, creating an interactive space where festival guests could keep the energy going between performances from country music stars Jordan Davis, Gretchen Wilson, Tyler Farr, and Sofia Claire.

Throughout the day, dancers of every experience level stopped by to learn beginner-friendly line dances, request their favorite country songs, and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere that makes country dancing so much fun. Some guests had been line dancing for years, while others were stepping onto the dance floor for the very first time. Watching complete beginners leave with a smile after learning their first dance is always one of our favorite parts of every event.

Festivals like Boots & Brews are a perfect example of why we love what we do. Live music naturally brings people together, but adding interactive dance lessons creates an experience where everyone can participate—not just watch. It's an incredible way to build community, encourage conversation, and create memories that last long after the festival ends.

We'd like to thank the Boots & Brews team for trusting us to lead the Honky Tonk Tent, as well as everyone who came out to dance with us throughout the day. The energy, enthusiasm, and support from the country dance community made this one of our favorite events of the year.
